A 12-week program where children have the opportunity to strengthen their connection with Spanish while enjoying the spring and summer season. Through play, music, nature, and imagination, we create a safe and joyful space where the language is lived, felt, and enjoyed—both indoors and outdoors.
Why is it important for children to speak a second language?
A second language is not just a communication tool; it’s an essential part of a child’s identity. Speaking Spanish helps children understand and appreciate culture, traditions, and roots. It strengthens emotional bonds with their families, especially with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and loved ones who may not speak English.
In a diverse community like Canada, speaking more than one language allows children to communicate with confidence, build wider relationships, and grow up with stronger self-esteem and a greater sense of belonging.
What do we do in class?
Each session is designed to help little ones learn in a natural and fun way by using the language in real-life, everyday situations. Our hybrid program includes both indoor and outdoor activities, taking advantage of the beautiful spring and summer weather. Some of the activities include:
🌳 Outdoor play and nature-based activities – exploring parks, movement games, and learning through nature
🎵 Rhythmic songs and games – to learn vocabulary through movement and music
📚 Read-aloud time – with puppets, big books, and active participation
🎨 Arts and crafts – using key words like colors, shapes, and objects
🧩 Sensory and role-play games – like the store, the house, or the vet
👋 Culture and tradition – traditional legends and Latin American cultural celebrations through play and imagination
This program aims to plant a love for language, culture, and roots in every child, supporting their growth in Canada with joy, community, and belonging.
